I’m excited to announce a new Jenkins plugin along with a new REST API for Compuware Strobe, the leading mainframe application performance management solution, that automates performance tests early in the development lifecycle. By automating shift-left performance testing, your teams can improve agility, deliver higher quality applications, reduce development costs and deliver better customer experiences.

Topaz Workbench

Topaz Workbench is an Eclipse-based IDE that provides an intuitive interface that enables developers of all experience levels to initiate tasks with Compuware and non-Compuware developer tools.

Enhanced Topaz Editors for a Better Editing Experience

• Enhanced file compare options to ignore columns based off language to better identify areas of logic changes in the code
• Ability to enable code folding so that sections of code can be collapsed, letting users concentrate on relevant code
• Introduced PL/I and JCL templates allowing for users to create and store their own code snippets for reuse

Topaz for Total Test

Topaz for Total Test automates unit, functional, integration and regression testing, enabling developers and testers at all skill levels to test sub-segments and functionality of a program.

Improved Code Coverage Collection

• Similar to unit testing, code coverage information can be generated and collected by users executing functional tests with Xpediter in batch, enabling developers to understand how much coverage their regression test suite covers of their program code, and make decisions on how to set up tests to cover more
• Improved usability with simplified dialogs
• Expanded support for testing programs that depend on file status keys and VSAM return codes

ThruPut Manager

ThruPut Manager automatically and intelligently optimizes batch job processing by balancing workload and improving batch throughput.

System Boost Recovery Support

Reduce workload and avoid overloading after a boost period by constraining the selection of managed batch jobs to important and/or short jobs

System Boost Support

• Automatically drain batch workload in preparation for shutdown or reIPL
• Exploit additional capacity to continue to run important and/or short-running jobs later in the shutdown

FDRWEB

FDRWEB provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for the powerful and robust FDREPORT DASD reporting tool. 

Enhanced DASD and Tape Resources

• New "Data Trend" capability in FDRWEB automatically provides a graphical view of the data resources changing over time to identify trends in data storage
• Set “Data Alerts” triggered at customizable thresholds to reduce the amount of active monitoring required

IAM

IAM offers a transparent alternative to VSAM KSDS to improve performance, ease bottlenecks and tuning problems, and shorten job elapsed times by reducing I/O and CPU consumption.

Support for Pervasive Encryption

• Support for z/OS Pervasive Encryption which enables extensive encryption of transactional data and data at rest
• Support for Alternate Indexes and Dynamic Reorg when the base cluster is encrypted as is done for VSAM

Support for Shared CICS Regions

IAM Dynamic Reorg now supports IAM datasets processed by CICS regions that are shared using IAM/RLS while they are being reorganized
